Bangkok

After a rather dull but massive meal we checked out from the hospital. I'm going to miss that place.. We got approximately four days to kill before I am going back on a final check up and after that we will head straight for the beach in Phuket.
We grabbed a cab to Khao San road to find the well reputed and world famous D & D Inn. I bet this is the first time we had some kind of luck.. There was a double room free! This is where we are now, sitting on the rooftop by the pool surfing the web. This place is great, less crowded/noisy than Delhi, tons of other tourists and the inhabitants does not really seem to bother with you except for the Tuk tuk drivers asking if we want to ping pong (not as innocent as it might sound)..
This place is so much cleaner and actually cheaper than India even though it feels more like a western country. Bangkok is well evolved with more fancy buildings than you could find in Sweden in total. This will most likely in time turn out to be Japan 2 in time.
Right now we are sitting next to the pool on the D&D rooftop surfing the web, catching the latest news. This place is a bit out of our price range since what happened in Jaipur, it does have everything we could ask for and a great atmosphere(only for four days anyway). You certainly get your moneys worth.
After we checked in we took another cab down town and strolled among the huge modern shopping malls.. This place has changed a lot since I last was here more than 10 years ago. The prices was almost like home and we were too tired for any serious shopping.
While back at the hotel we later took a stroll down khao san road buying some meat sticks, sun glasses and quickly scanned the stores for some sweet fake merchandise. We ended up on a gas station that was transformed into a pub at night (creative, I like!) having one Chang beer each. Rather mild beer but definitely a strong contender to what is made in Europe.
This is a new beginning, the white sand and blue oceans are luring in Phuket but that time is nigh!

Välkommen till Bangkok, scam-capital of the earth! :D
